Overview

MetaClean is designed to help users remove hidden metadata from photos and videos before sharing. The app processes selected media fully on-device and is built to minimize data exposure.

Data collection

MetaClean does not require an account and does not collect your selected photos or videos. The iOS version does not include advertising or analytics. The free Android version uses the third-party services described below, which may process limited device, advertising, purchase, and diagnostic data.

Media processing

Photo and video cleaning happens locally on your device. Selected files are processed on-device to create cleaned copies with supported metadata removed. Your original photos and videos remain unchanged.

Supported formats

MetaClean supports common photo and video formats available on the user's device. Format support and video export compatibility may vary by operating system, device, and source file.

Network usage

MetaClean does not upload your photos or videos to a server. The main cleaning workflow runs on-device. On Android, internet access is used by Google Mobile Ads, Google User Messaging Platform, Google Play Billing, and Google Play's review service.

Photo Library permission

MetaClean may request access to media you select and permission to save cleaned copies. These permissions are used only to open, process, save, or share the photos and videos you choose.

Temporary share files

When you use the share feature, MetaClean may create temporary cleaned media files locally on your device so they can be passed to the operating system's share interface. These files are not uploaded by MetaClean and may later be removed by the operating system.

Third-party services

The iOS version does not include ads, analytics, or third-party tracking services. The free Android version uses Google Mobile Ads to display advertising and Google User Messaging Platform to request and manage applicable privacy choices. Depending on region, consent choices, device settings, and ad configuration, Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, advertising interactions, diagnostics, IP-derived approximate location, and consent choices. MetaClean also uses Google Play Billing for the optional one-time Remove Ads purchase and Google Play's in-app review service. MetaClean does not receive or store payment-card details. Users can revisit available advertising privacy choices inside the Android app.

Children’s privacy

MetaClean is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children's photos, videos, or account information. Third-party services used in the Android version process data according to their own policies and the user's privacy choices.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If the policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
