MELUNOTE SUPPORT

Good questions.
Simple answers.
How do I start my first practice session?
Open My pieces, add a piece, and choose Start practicing. You can add the composer, target tempo, and a particular passage to focus on. Pause or finish the session, then save your notes and how it felt.
Does Melunote record or listen to my instrument?
No. Melunote is a practice journal and timer. It does not record audio, use the microphone, automatically detect tempo, or evaluate your playing. You enter tempo and session notes yourself.
Does my timer keep running in the background?
Yes. An active session measures elapsed time when you leave the app or return after reopening it. Pause the session when you take a break, and finish it when you are done.
Why am I not receiving reminders?
Enable Daily reminder in Melunote’s Settings and choose a time. Also allow notifications for Melunote in your device’s Settings. Focus modes and notification settings may affect delivery. If you previously denied permission, enable it in device Settings and turn the reminder on again in the app.
How do I back up or move my journal?
In Settings → Create full backup, save the JSON file somewhere you can access later. On the other device, choose Restore from backup and select that file. Restoring replaces the current journal after confirmation; it does not merge journals. Enable reminders again after restoring. Melunote does not automatically sync between devices.
What is the difference between CSV and a full backup?
A CSV export is a readable table of your saved sessions; the button becomes available after you save a session. A full JSON backup includes pieces, sessions, settings, and any current session in a paused state. Only a valid JSON backup can be restored. CSV files cannot be imported. Exported files are not password-protected and may contain private notes.
Why was my backup rejected?
Melunote accepts its own valid JSON backups up to 10 MB. A CSV file, an edited or incomplete file, or an unsupported format cannot be restored. An invalid backup does not replace your current journal. Keep the original file and contact support without attaching private notes unless needed.
How do I change language, appearance, or my goal?
Open Settings to choose one of nine languages, light/dark/system appearance, your instrument, and a weekly practice goal. These preferences are saved on your device.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete pieces from their detail screen and sessions from the history’s context menu. Deleting a piece keeps its past sessions. To remove all local app data, delete the app rather than offloading it. Delete exported files and any device/cloud backups separately if you no longer want those copies. There is no Melunote account to delete.
Which devices are supported?
Melunote is designed for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 and later. Each installation has its own local journal.
